Descripción de la actividad

Continuing a 25-year tradition, the Menéndez y Pelayo International University (UIMP) will once again hold the course on the future of the European Union which, since 2013, adopted the generic name “Quo Vadis, Europe?”

As in previous editions, the course will be directed by Josep Borrell Fontelles, former High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and with Prof. Francisco Fonseca Morillo as academic Director and Secretary.

Quo Vadis Europa? Will take place at the UIMP’s campus at the Palacio de la Magdalena, in Santander, from August 25 to 29.

In a context defined by the war in Ukraine, the emergence of new USA administration and its consequences on the economy and global stability, the course will address the positioning of the EU as a geopolitical actor, its contribution to the security of Europe and its relations with the US, China and other regions of the world. For this purpose, political leaders, university professors and experts on the most relevant geopolitical issues will take part in the course.
